Benjamins was established by Jamaican Percival Austin Benjamin in 1870 due to his interest in the Jamaican practice of using bush teas as herbal medicine. Benjamin products were marketed at Jamaicans who worked on the construction of the Panama Canal in 1879. The company was brought by Cecil B Facey in 1930 and chose to concentrate on producing hair care and beauty products.

Today Benjamins products are enjoyed by men and women throughout the Caribbean and the world.
