2023 marked the 75th anniversary of the arrival of Windrush Generation who were invited to the UK from the Caribbean to help rebuild the country after the Second World War. These Caribbean pioneers made substantial contributions to British society, fighting for Britain, working in the NHS, public transport, construction and cleaning services.

As we celebrate Windrush Day on 22nd June, we give tribute to our intrepid Caribbean parents for the extraordinary sacrifices they made for their families 'back home', and for and the significant impact they made to British society, paving the way for a better life for future generations.

Windrush Bay is the legacy of this special generation of Caribbean poineers who arrived in the UK on the Empire Windrush in 1948.

We shall never forget them.
